WoodbridgeTownship is the oldest original township in the state of New Jersey.It is located in Middlesex County just seven miles east of Edison and has a population of 100,421 (2004 U.S. Census Bureau estimates).This historic township lies in the New York metro area and is the fifth largest municipality in the New Jersey.
Woodbridge was settled in the early autumn of 1664 and King Charles II of England granted it a charter on June 1, 1669.It gets its name from reverend John W. Woodbridge of Newbury, Massachusetts.
Throughout its history, the residents of Woodbridge have worked hard to develop its local economy, government and community.Today its industrial retail services, transportation infrastructure and professional growth have made it a hub of business activity and progress in central New Jersey.In addition, easy access to airports, hospitals, schools and universities continue to draw families to this historic area.
